Romans 12:2 (NASB) And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
‘It’s a woman’s prerogative to change her mind’. I used to hear this a lot as a boy growing up in Texas. I initially thought that this was something exclusive to women, but as I grew older I knew better. We all have the right to change our minds at any time. The change is usually a result of receiving new or better information that we previously had available. In my opinion, the new information should be the Word of God. If we are reading and meditating on God’s word on a daily basis then our desire to conform to the ways of the world should be less and less.
There’s an old saying ‘You are what you eat’. If we are consuming the ‘Bread of Life’ which is the manna in which Jesus talked about we will be nourished by it (John 6:35). Only then will we have the power to change our minds. However, if we are consuming the things of this world; violence, lust, greed, etc., then we will become what we are taking in. Our minds will not be renewed and we cannot resist the temptations of this world.
In order to change you habits you have to change the way you think. Begin a routine of pray, Bible Study, and worship on a daily basis. Take a few minutes a day to read and meditate on a scripture so that your spiritual man can grow. This will help you to begin to Change your mind to God’s way!
