Relationships are an investment. You invest your time, emotions, and opportunity in a person. And just like most investments there are no guarantees that it will always work out. Now let’s look at who we are investing in. If this person has not invested in themselves (career, education, self-worth, and esteem) why are you investing in them? They are already telling you that they are bankrupt, and you still want to put something ‘on that’? Well, don’t be surprised when the sign on your relationship says ‘Gone out of business’ or ‘Insolvent’. You have to make certain you are both on the same page in order to have a chance at happiness. The Bible says in Amos 3:3 “How can two walk together unless they are in agreement”? Before you invest in someone make certain you know what and who you are investing in.
