Philippians 4:8 (NASB) Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
“The world we have created is a product of our thinking; it cannot be changed without changing our thinking.” –Albert Einstein. If this is the case, then our thinking must be changed immediately, because the world we live in has become a place that is cold, dark, and depressing! As I write today our country is besieged with a drug epidemic, moral and family decay, wars, and disease. I wish I could say this has only started over the last few years, but it’s been this way for a while now and getting worse. One of the main reasons that it’s getting worse is because of what we are putting in our thoughts. You can turn on the television, radio, cell phone and become bombarded with all types of negative or provocative information. Most of this information is far more than our optical sensory glands can contain. Our minds have become a wasteland of junk and garbage that is rotting our souls.
The human brain is the blueprint that we used to create our personal computers. They work almost similarly, what you put in them is basically what you will get out of them. If you keep putting in pornography, hate, political rhetoric, and all kinds of satanic imagery then don’t be surprised what will come out of it!
We spend too many waking hours in the day thinking on negative things that saturate our minds and they take up valuable space. Stop allowing the negative things to rule your thoughts. Be careful of what you are putting into your mind. Don’t allow bad news to overwhelm you with fear. These things are taking up way too much storage on your spiritual hard drive. Just like with your computer, if you keep taking in the wrong thing then you will become infected and will ultimately crash!
I would advocate if you want a better or beautiful world, then just as Albert Einstein said you have to ‘change’ your ‘thinking’. To change your thinking you have to have new and better input, which is the Word of God. If you think on those things that a righteous, peaceful, lovely, pure, and of good report then you can create something beautiful in your life. Imagine a world of peace, love, harmony, and joy. A world that does not promote hate or porn, and war is a thing of the past! Wouldn’t that be a beautiful world? Well a beautiful world begins with a beautiful mind!
