Jeremiah 1:5 (NASB) “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
All of God’s creation is born with a purpose in mind. Nothing is ever placed on this earth by accident or design. I like how Pastor Rick Warren puts it, ‘There are no accidently children, only accidental parents.’ We may not all be a Jeremiah, but before we were born God had a purpose in mind for us! Sadly, many people do not seek or understand what they were put on this earth to accomplish. They seemingly drift from one thing to the next, never really finding their place in this life. Often I’ve seen people attempt to duplicate someone else’s success and when it fails almost give up on their life.
I’ve even attempted to grab someone else’s purpose in my life. I tried to be something or someone that I wasn’t created to be. Yes, I had some level of success; but I was never really comfortable with ‘their success.’ Ultimately I had to find my own.
Additionally, we often willingly surrender our purpose to other people’s opinion. We stop striving to achieve because of what other people have to say about what we are doing. The truth is God gave you a purpose before anyone could form an opinion about you, so whatever they may have to say about you should not matter! He knew you in your mother’s womb just like Jeremiah and created you with an expected end in mind.
